I take the privacy of my guests seriously. This policy explains what personal information I collect through escapescenes.com.au, why I collect it, and how I handle it.

Escape Scenes is a private touring business based in Sydney, operated by me, Dave Edwards. If you have any questions about this policy or how your information is handled, you can contact me directly at .

What information I collect

When you make an enquiry or booking, I collect the information you provide, which may include your name, email address, phone number, travel dates, number of passengers, pickup location, and any special requirements you mention. Bookings and payments are processed through Rezdy, my booking platform, so payment details are handled directly by Rezdy and its payment processor — I don't store your card details myself.

When you contact me via WhatsApp, our conversation is handled through WhatsApp's own platform under WhatsApp's privacy policy, in addition to this one.

When you browse the website, I use Google Analytics (via Google Site Kit) to understand how visitors use the site — pages viewed, time on site, general location, and device type. I also use the Meta Pixel, which helps me understand how visitors arrive at the site from Facebook and Instagram and, if you've interacted with my ads, allows me to show relevant follow-up advertising. Both tools use cookies and collect data in an aggregated, generally non-identifying way, though Meta may link some of this to your Facebook/Instagram account depending on your own privacy settings with Meta.

When you fill out a contact or enquiry form, submitted through Forminator, I receive whatever details you enter — typically name, email, phone, and your message.

If you book through a third-party platform

If you book a tour through Viator, GetYourGuide, TripAdvisor, or another listing partner, that platform collects and holds your information under its own privacy policy, and shares the booking details I need (your name, contact details, and tour specifics) with me to deliver the tour. I don't control how those platforms handle your data beyond that.

My tour listings are also syndicated through the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW) to sites including sydney.com, visitnsw.com, and australia.com. This only involves my business and tour information, not guest personal data.

Why I collect this information

I use your information to:

• respond to enquiries and process bookings
• plan and deliver your tour (pickup arrangements, itinerary, group size)
• meet insurance and safety obligations
• understand how people find and use the website, so I can improve it
• occasionally, show relevant advertising to people who've previously shown interest in a tour

I don't sell your personal information to anyone, and I don't use it for purposes beyond running and improving the business.

Cookies

The website uses cookies from Google Analytics and Meta Pixel, as described above. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, though this may affect how some parts of the site work. Disabling these cookies doesn't affect your ability to make a booking or enquiry.

How long I keep your information

I retain booking and enquiry details for as long as needed to deliver the tour, meet accounting and insurance record-keeping obligations, and respond to any follow-up questions. After that, I don't have a need to keep it indefinitely and it isn't used for any other purpose.

Your rights

You can ask me at any time what personal information I hold about you, request a copy of it, or ask me to correct or delete it. To do this, email . I'll respond as quickly as I can. Some information may need to be retained for legal, accounting, or insurance reasons even after a deletion request.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time as the business or the tools I use change. The "last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent revision.
