Private Extended Tours From Sydney

Multi-day touring across regional NSW, Victoria and Queensland with no other passengers.

Your trip, your pace, your route

An extended tour with me is built entirely around your group — where you go, how long you stay, and what you actually want to see. There's no package to slot you into and no schedule to keep up with.

Just your group, my Mercedes V-Class, and a route I plan and guide personally from the first day to the last.

18 years finding the roads worth taking

I've been guiding private tours from Sydney since 2009, and I know how flat a rushed itinerary can leave a trip feeling. Extended touring lets me do the opposite — spend real days in a place instead of racing through it.

Between Sydney and the far corners of the east coast, I've covered outback NSW, the Victorian High Country, coastal Queensland and the Snowy Mountains — often more than once, always behind the wheel myself. Every extended tour is guided personally, start to finish. No rotating drivers, no subcontracted legs.

How it works

Tell me where you'd like to go and roughly how long you have. I'll put together a route and day-by-day itinerary built around that — not a template with your name added to it. Once you're happy with it, I confirm the trip and we're on the road.

What you can count on

Your itinerary is built for your group from scratch, not lifted from a package, and it stays flexible if your plans shift along the way. It's always just your group in the vehicle — no other passengers, ever. And I'm driving and guiding every day of the trip myself.

Your vehicle for the trip

Extended tours run in my 2023 Mercedes-Benz V-Class V300 — leather seating, individual climate control and genuine legroom for the long stretches between destinations. For multi-day touring with luggage, I keep groups to up to 4 guests, which keeps the cabin and cargo space comfortable for the whole trip.

Where an extended tour can take you

These are starting points, not a fixed menu — every extended tour is planned around your interests and timeframe.

Broken Hill & outback NSW — around 7 days

Red dirt, the Living Desert sculptures, and the wide-open Mundi Mundi Plains made famous by Mad Max 2. A world away from the coast, and one of the most requested extended routes I run.

Victorian High Country — around 7 days

Alpine roads, mountain villages and the kind of scenery that doesn't show up on a Sydney day trip. A slower, more remote way to see south-eastern Australia.

Sydney to the Gold Coast — around 4 days

A coastal road trip up the NSW seaboard, with stops built around beaches, small towns and lookouts most visitors drive straight past.

Coastal Queensland to Cairns

An extended run up the Queensland coast for groups wanting to cover serious distance without giving up a private, personally guided experience.

Mount Kosciuszko — around 3 days

A shorter private trip built around hiking Australia's highest peak, for groups who want the Snowy Mountains without organising it themselves.

Extended touring beyond Sydney

Every extended tour below started as a private group's request, and each one is still built around exactly that — your interests, your pace and your timeframe. There are no fixed packages here. Some of these are round trips, out and back to Sydney with no dead-leg cost built in. Others run one-way to a different endpoint, like Melbourne, with day touring bolted on at the far end before I make my own way home. I'll always tell you upfront which kind you're looking at, since it changes how the trip is priced.

These tours regularly reach beyond NSW into the ACT, Victoria and Queensland — from the Snowy Mountains and Victorian High Country through to the coast up to Cairns. If you don't see the exact route you're after below, get in touch and I'll tell you honestly whether it's something I can put together.

Extended tour FAQs

What's included in a private extended tour?

Exclusive use of my Mercedes V-Class for the full trip, me as your driver-guide throughout, and a day-by-day itinerary built around your interests before you depart. Accommodation and some activities are arranged separately depending on the route and your preferences.

Can I fully customise my itinerary?

Yes — there are no pre-packaged itineraries. Every multi-day tour is built from scratch around your interests, pace, timeframe and budget. Tell me what matters to you and I'll research and design the trip around that, from the first conversation.

How far in advance should I book?

I'd suggest getting in touch at least 6–8 weeks ahead — longer trips need more planning time than a single day out, and popular periods like school holidays fill up quickly. If your timing is tighter, reach out anyway and I'll tell you honestly what's possible.

Are extended tours suitable for international visitors?

Very much so. If you're arriving with limited time and a long list of places to see, a private multi-day tour takes the planning off your hands entirely — no hire car, no navigating, no guesswork. I've guided visitors from the US, UK and Europe on exactly this kind of trip.

Are your extended tours suitable for families?

Yes. Private multi-day tours are ideal for families because you dictate the schedule. We can incorporate kid-friendly stops, manage driving times to suit younger travellers, and the exclusively forward-facing seats in the Mercedes V-Class provide a comfortable, spacious ride for everyone.

Who are these private group tours best for?

They are perfect for couples, families, and small private groups of up to 4 people. If you want the luxury of a personal driver-guide, zero logistical stress, and the flexibility to change plans on the fly, this style of touring is designed for you.

Which regions of NSW do your multi-day tours cover?

We travel throughout regional New South Wales, departing from Sydney. While every itinerary is custom-built, popular directions include the South Coast, the Blue Mountains and Central West, and the Hunter Valley. We don't run fixed routes, so your destination is entirely up to you.

Where do your extended tours depart from?

All tours typically begin with a private pickup from your Sydney accommodation or Sydney Airport. We can conclude the tour back in Sydney, or design a one-way route if you are continuing your travel from another regional centre.

How many guests can travel together?

Up to 4 guests with luggage, in a single Mercedes V-Class. It's spacious enough that long drives don't feel long, and it reaches places larger tour vehicles simply can't. No other passengers — ever.

What does a private extended tour cost?

Extended tours are priced per day, generally in the $1,050–$1,500 range depending on route, group size and inclusions. I'll give you a firm figure once we've worked out where you want to go and for how long.
