Heading 160km along part of the original convict trail Great Northern Rd north west from Sydney our first stop is at historic Wollombi as we travel back in time to the 1830s era to this amazing convict built village where you’ll have the opportunity to taste the local Jungle Juice. We continue to visit a variety of wineries with some dating back to the mid 1850s. You’ll have the opportunity for Liqueur, Beer, Spirit tastings with a stop for lunch as well.
There are 150 wineries within the Hunter Region, we’ll visit a few of the key locations discussed on the day.

The Hunter Valley represents some of Australia’s oldest wine-growing regions going back to mid 1800s producing about 3% of our nation’s wine. We’ll learn about the industries humble beginnings and why the hunter is such an important part of the industry today. It is a wine-growing region and popular for destination weddings, coal mining and concerts.
Flexibility
Our guests love the flexibility we offer where the tour is in your hands. We do have some destinations on our agenda however what you’ll have is the opportunity to explore at your leisure without the need to rush back to the vehicle. We have clear conversations about what can be achieved during your day and continually update this with you based on your preferences.

My family and I, did the private tour with David. We found it very entertaining, enjoyable and informative. David’s local knowledge of the area was invaluable and helped us beat the crowds along with seeing the best vantage points of the blue mountains. David was very pleasant to spend the day with. We highly recommend this private tour.
Having had to wait nearly 3 years (Covid!) to visit Sydney, this tour with David was well worth the wait. He took us to hidden away gems to see amazing sights with very little in the way of crowds. The tour is very flexible and was planned totally around what we wanted to get out of the day. We would highly recommend Escape Scenes and felt it was very good value for money.
