Morning departure — 8:00am
We pick you up from your Sydney hotel or agreed location and head north across the Hawkesbury River, taking the scenic way into Australia's oldest wine region instead of the freeway.
Wollombi
Our first stop is the historic village of Wollombi, dating back to the 1830s. Wander at your own pace, take in the heritage buildings and have the chance to taste Dr Jurds Jungle Juice before we head on to wine country. Planning ahead? The Visit Wollombi site has more on the village's history.
Allandale Winery
Your first tasting of the day, included in the tour, at this boutique winery known for its Hunter Semillon and Shiraz. Take your time and ask questions. There's no schedule pushing you along.
Lunch at Harrigan's Hunter Valley
A relaxed midday stop at this Hunter Valley institution, or a similar venue depending on your preference. Lunch is at your own expense, typically $20 to $40 per person, giving you full choice over what you eat.
Your choice of afternoon venues
After lunch the afternoon is yours to shape. Visit well known cellar doors such as Brokenwood Wines or McGuigan Wines at Roche Estate, with tastings at your own expense. There are plenty of wineries in the Hunter, so we help you pick the ones that suit your tastes and the time you have.
Return to Sydney — approx. 6:00pm

Pricing is per group rather than per person, and includes a complimentary tasting at Allandale Winery. The vehicle is exclusively yours for the day regardless of group size, up to a maximum of 5 passengers. Lunch and tastings at other venues are at your own expense. What's included in a private Hunter Valley tour?
Your day starts when we arrive at your door in a premium private vehicle, exclusively for your group with no other passengers. You'll get a complimentary tasting at Allandale Winery, door-to-door pickup, WiFi and bottled water throughout the day. Lunch and tastings at other venues are at your own expense.
Can I customise my Hunter Valley itinerary?
Yes. The day follows a set start, with a stop in historic Wollombi, an included tasting at Allandale Winery and lunch at Harrigan's Hunter Valley. After lunch the afternoon is yours to shape, with well known cellar doors such as Brokenwood Wines or McGuigan Wines at Roche Estate on the list, and tastings at your own expense. We aim to have you back in Sydney by around 6:00pm. The pace is yours too, so you can spend longer at a winery or keep lunch short. Just let us know when you book.
Do you offer hotel pickup from Sydney for Hunter Valley tours?
Yes, we offer door-to-door pickup from anywhere in Sydney CBD, the Eastern Suburbs, North Shore and surrounding areas. Pickup is typically between 7:00am and 8:30am depending on your location, and your day starts the moment we arrive.
Is a private Hunter Valley tour good for couples and special occasions?
Yes. Private tours work well for anniversaries, birthdays and other occasions because the vehicle and itinerary are entirely yours, with no other passengers on board. Mention any special touches you'd like when you book and we'll see what we can arrange.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking at least a week ahead to confirm venue availability, since we take on a limited number of tours each month. If you're planning something last minute, reach out anyway and we'll do what we can to fit you in.
